One Solitary Life

He was born in an obscure village, the Child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in still another village where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty.
Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.
He never wrote a book.
He never held an office.
He didn't go to college.
He never visited a big city.
He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born.
He did none of the things one usually associates with greatness.
He had no credentials but Himself.
He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against Him.
His friends ran away.
He was turned over to His enemies and went through the mockery of a trial.
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.
While He was dying, His executioners gambled for His clothing,
the only property He had on earth.
When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure of the human race and the leader of mankind's progress.

All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned put together have not affected the life of man on earth as much as that One Solitary Life.

I'm not a senseless puppet --
I make my own decisions --

I am a disciple of Christ

I am part of The Fellowship of the Unashamed.  I have the Holy Spirit's power.  The die has been cast.  I have stepped over the line.  The decision has been made.  I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.  I won't look up, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.  My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure.  I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tame visions, mundane talking, chintzy giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits or popularity.  I don't have to be right, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded.  I now live by Presence, lean by faith, love by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power.  My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear.  I cannot be bought, compromised, deterred, lured away, turned back, diluted, or delayed.  I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.  I won't give up, back up, let up, or shut up until I've preached up, prayed up, stored up, and stayed up the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.  I must go until Heaven returns, give until I drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes.  And when He comes to get His own, He will have no problem recognizing me.  My colors will be clear.

"The Fellowship of the Unashamed" was written by Dr. Bob Moorehead, Words Aptly Spoken, ©1980.

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God
for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
Romans 1:16

Can music make you smarter?

Norman Seaton, Ed.D, asked fifteen 18-year-old graduating high school seniors the following question:  If an accordionist wanted to become popular, what type of music would that person be required to play?  The answers were "Techno (digital), Christian Rock Alternative, R&B, HipHop, Rap, Latin HipHop," and one student reported, "Classical (Mozart or Beethoven)."

Guess which student graduated with a 4.0 average.  Yep, the Classical fan.  Studies have linked classical music and intelligence, so you might want to change the music you listen to while you study.

I've read that even mice work more efficiently listening to classical music instead of hip-hop!

Does the Bible say anything about being young?
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"
Ecclesiastes 12:1
Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2 Timothy 2.2
"In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.  Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.  I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.  The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Acts 2:17-21
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

1 Timothy 4:12

The ABCs of salvation

Knowing your sins are forgiven and you are ready for heaven is as simple as following these steps:

A.  Admit you have sinned.  "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  (Romans 3:23)

B.  Believe in Jesus.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16)

C.  Confess and leave your sin.  "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."   (I John 1:9)

Computer Stuff by Marge
Put your page on the web...it's possible!  There are free places to put it.  The only drawbacks are that they have ads to either be on your page or pop-up when your page is loaded.  But that's really no problem, because web-surfers are used to seeing lots of ads!  Your URL (web address) will be long, but you can send your link to your friends so all they have to do is Click on it.  I have used  Angelfire.com.

Great free graphics are available from
Bells and Whistles

Some of the places which provide free space also have web-page building tools.  But I like to do my own thing, so I use the Composer in the Netscape Communicator browser.  A very nice feature in Composer is that you can study pages you like, and learn how they were built.   When you find a page you admire, simply go to your Netscape menu and choose File, the Edit Page -- and there is everything, graphics and all.  You can save it to a Folder on your own computer, and study it later when you're off-line.

If your family is on-line at home, they probably have an Internet account.  If so, and they haven't filled up their allowed space, they might let you put up a page or two.     The Internet Provider will have an instruction page for uploading to their server.  If you can't figure it out, send me a message and I may be able to explain the process.
As an example of who an Internet Provider is, Pastor Howard and I have used aptalaska.net

After you put your page on the Internet, you should send your link to everyone you know, by e-mail and "snail mail."

You can also help web-surfers find it by adding it to the Altavista search engine.  Go to their page at www.av.com and look for the Help link; there will be a place to Add a URL.

If the only place you can get on the Internet is at school, you'll want to find one of places with free space.  The same thing is true if you want to put up a lot of photos, because they use lots of space.  Some of those sites are www.tripod.com, www.geocities.com and www.angelfire.com

As an example, here's a page with many photos, so it takes quite a while to load.  I did it in memory of our granddaughter, Dina.  www.spaciousskies.us/Dina

The web address of this page is www.spaciousskies.us/PrincePeace/Youth/Alive.html
